Luann
Udell | | Luann
Udell is a nationally exhibited mixed-media artist. She creates fiber collage
assemblages, embellished with her own handmade artifacts. Her original artwork
is the result of a unique combination of skills and interests.
Her work reflects her fascination with archeology, folk art, na•ve, primitive
and prehistoric art. Every piece shows her love of fabrics, stitchery, antique
beads and buttons. Inspired by the Neolithic animal art from the Lascaux cave
in France, Luann | | uses
polymer clay to hand-form her artifacts, creating the look of ivory, bone, shell
and stone. Her work has appeared in numerous books and magazines. Above: A
large (roughly palm-sized) Lascaux Horse artifact, modeled on both sides, floats
above a black steel base, evocative of a museum display. Each horse is modeled
one at a time. No two are alike. All signed by the artist. Approximate overall
height of 8". A wonderful gift | For
