All
of Ofiesh’s pieces are one-of-a-kind
and are very unique within themselves. His
most current work includes his new orbit ring
series and his collection of woven precious
metal jewelry.
Having learned the various
techniques of jewelry making, Ofiesh has been
involved in many workshops, as well as studying
gem-setting at the Revere Academy of Jewelry
Arts in San Francisco during the mid-1980’s
Along the way Ofiesh worked with many talented
and renowned metal workers including Heikki
Seppa and Ronald Pearson. Ofiesh constantly
refining his techniques and moving from silver
to gold, has proven his talent and ability
to the jewelry making-world.
Due to Ofiesh’s aptitude,
he has received numerous awards and recognitions
including, but not limited to the Michael Bondanza
Award for Excellence in Jewelry at the Philadelphia
Museum of Art Craft Show in 1988; the Hoover
and Strong Award for Designs in Precious Metals
at the Richmond Craft Show in 1991, 1995 and
1998; and jewelry awards at the St. Louis Art
Fair in 1996 and the Portland Arts Festival
in 1998 and 1999 in Oregon.
His jewelry is sold throughout the United Stated
in numerous stores and galleries and all his work
is produced in his studio in Charlottesville, Virginia.
