Dana Major

Dana Major fell in love with clay in 1985 while running the pottery shop at a camp for boys in northern Wisconsin.

She worked in clay continuously while earning her BA. After completing an 18-month apprenticeship in St Petersburg, Russia, in ceramic sculpture, Dana's passion shifted from functional to sculptural ceramics.

"I came away from my apprenticeship in Russia with two of the most influential elements to my art, even as it continues to grow through time: The slab construction technique and an ever-expanding interest in sculpting figural forms."
