“My work is primarily figurative.
I like story and detail.”
Page Candler obtained her BFA from Virginia Commonwealth University in the 1970's and has been a clay artist ever since. Candler’s current work emanates from her studio in south central Kentucky. From a slab of clay Candler hand builds her vases and vessels. After free-hand cutting the shape, Candler adds details by pinching them into the clay. In addition to eyes, nose and a mouth, there are subtle, leafy embellishments. The vessels are then fired, glazed, and fired again.
Candler’s whimsical clay creations can be found in fine art and craft galleries from Massachusetts to California and from Florida to Wisconsin.
