After graduating from Brooklyn College and
earning a Master of Fine Arts from Columbia University,
Carol Baretz launched the first collection of
Ann Carol Designs In 1986. Initially the jewelry
was primarily a line of geometric shapes without
color, but after Baretz took lessons and learned
the techniques of resin

enamels, she found they provided a myriad of colors
and textures. Besides being shiny, the resins act
as a glue, therefore, other materials can be added.
Baretz has been designing jewelry for eighteen years
and works out of her studio in Nyack, New York. Ann
Carol jewelry and pillboxes are sold in art galleries,
museum gift shops, and jewelry stores throughout the
United States.
